International students seeking admission to College of the Ouachitas must follow the regular admission procedure in addition to providing evidence of financial responsibility and English language proficiency. All documents must be official and on file before registration can occur.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- An application for admission.
Proof of immunization for measles and rubella.
- Authenticated copies of academic records translated into English. These records should describe the course of instruction, the number of years spent in school and the subject matter covered with the grades earned in each subject.
All international students should be proficient in the English language prior to enrollment. Students should submit official documentation of having completed the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 500 (paper based), 173 (computer based) or better with the admission application. Arrangements to take the TOEFL test may be made by writing to TOEFL Program Director, CN 6151, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6151.
- Official documented evidence of financial support must be provided to the College. Upon acceptance, College of the Ouachitas will furnish the student an I-20 form, which must be processed through the United States Immigration Service and returned to College of the Ouachitas prior to day of registration. This process takes several months to complete.
International students are required to be enrolled in at least 12 hours each semester.
- The International student must present documentation of medical insurance recognized by the American medical system. Tuition will be assessed as out of state tuition and must be paid on the day of registration. There is also a $100 non-refundable processing fee. The international student should be aware that College of the Ouachitas has no residential housing.
