College of the Ouachitas is accepting applications for the grant-funded position of Arkansas Works – Career Coach.
The Arkansas Works-Career Coach will be responsible for identifying students and adults through middle/high schools, workforce services centers, and other public entitles and encouraging them to aspire to postsecondary education, workforce training, and/or apprenticeships as the means to a career that will afford economic self-sufficiency. Job duties include, but are not limited to, assisting individuals in identifying careers, facilitating the development of career plans and portfolios, connecting individuals to appropriate resources, assisting with concurrent college credit enrollment and providing continued guidance to ease the transition from middle school to high school to postsecondary education or training and ultimately the workplace.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Experience in higher education or public schools preferred. Must be highly motivated and able to work with minimal direct supervision. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Must hold a Career Development Facilitator’s (CDF) Certification or be eligible to obtain within one year of hiring.
